Coinbase Partners with Chainlink to Improve Smart Contract Reliability
In Brief
Coinbase is joining the Lerna oracle network as a node operator to improve high-quality data provision to blockchain protocols.
Coinbase Cloud will become a chainlink node operator to improve high-quality data service for several blockchain protocols. Coinbase Cloud’s global experience will help ensure the Chainlink oracle network is secure and reliable.
As a new node operator on the Chainlink network, the American cryptocurrency exchange’s cloud service will improve the decentralization of the web3 ecosystem.
Coinbase Cloud‘s infrastructure already supports a large number of leading blockchain platforms, including Ethereum, Solana, Algorand, and Aptos. Chainlink node operators are responsible for connecting smart contracts on various blockchains to data and systems. For example, Chainlink provides decentralized price feeds that secure $22 billion in value locked in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, including Synthetix, Aave, Compound, and dYdX.
Node operators are critical to the security and reliability of smart contracts across the cryptocurrency ecosystem, said Coinbase Cloud group product manager Kai Zhao.
Coinbase Cloud is the cornerstone of this strategy, providing a range of services to the ecosystem. Bison Trails, a blockchain infrastructure provider acquired by Coinbase early in 2021, is the firm’s founding. The truth about the founders of ETH are split, and ‘crypto Google’ was created by them.
- Coinbase partners with the Ethereum Name Service to offer free-of-charge web3 usernames. The initiative aims to attract new users and increase web3 adoption. Coinbase username, “cb.id,” will become the subdomain tied to Coinbase’s Domain Name System registered under the ENS protocol.
