Blockchain software provider Chain and Kraft Sports + Entertainment have signed a multi-year deal with NFL teams, including the New England Patriots, New England Revolution, Gillette Stadium, and Patriot Place. The Web3 company, together with the entertainment brand, will “explore ways to develop state-of-the-art Web3 experiences while utilizing Chain’s award-winning suite of products and services.”

Kraft Sports + Entertainment is in charge of sales, marketing, event operations, and content growth for the Gillette Stadium and the two New England sports teams. The Kraft Group acquired the New England Patriots in the 90s and partially founded the New England Revolution, a soccer team.

The Patriots’ new partnership with Chain will see the organizations use blockchain technology to create NFTs and tokenized fans’ experiences that can be used for a variety of purposes by NFL fans. The Web3 company will support Gillette Stadium in creating one-of-a-kind experiences and help the team adapt from Web2 to Web3.

Murray Kohl, vice president of sales for Kraft Sports + Entertainment, said they will look for innovative ways to use blockchain technology to connect fans with the Patriots and Revolution “in ways never before possible.”

The CEO of Chain, Deepak Thapliyal, is an active NFT collector with CryptoPunks and Bored Apes in his digital asset portfolio. Thapliyal also bought the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain Patriots.eth for 75 ETH (almost $100k).

In November 2021, the New England Patriots partnered with Web3 sports platform Socios.com to offer fans an innovative experience. The partnership with Chain could be the sports team’s deeper dive into Web3 or might signify an end to the Socios.com partnership.

Chain’s partnership with the Patriots is the second significant deal that the company has had in the past few months. The company partnered with jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. to drop 30 ETH-worth of NFT necklaces for CryptoPunks.
