STEPN partners with Atlético de Madrid to develop 1,001 sneaker NFTs
Amber Group announces the partnership of Web3 app STEPN, Spanish football club Atlético de Madrid, and WhaleFin to develop a football-themed NFT collection of 1,001 sneaker tokens.
The new STEPN hand-drawn sneakers will be divided into three rarity categories: Common, Uncommon, and Rare. The NFTs will grant holders access to exclusive benefits and perks, among which the opportunity to interact with Atlético de Madrid players. Fans will have a chance to win signed football t-shirts. It’s worth noting that STEPN users will also have to physically move in order to gain one of the rewards.
To launch the project, WhaleFin, the digital asset platform by Amber Group, will drop 180 sneakers NFTs. Out of these, 160 will be Common-rarity sneakers, 19 Uncommon sneakers, and one pair of Rare sneakers. Additionally, STEPN will airdrop 20 Common-rarity sneakers to the community members.
“This strategic alliance with WhaleFin opens a new world of possibilities for the club and our fans worldwide. Exploring new ways to connect with our fan base and with communities like STEPN allows us to discover innovative possibilities offered by Web3.”
said the Chief Commercial Officer at Atlético de Madrid, Íñigo Aznar.
STEPN is a Web3 lifestyle application mainly known for its move-to-earn technology. Launched in December 2021, the startup attracts users thanks to the possibility of earning crypto while walking. Among other perks of the app is daily movement activity tracking.
STEPN’s newest sneakers NFTs drop on August 26.
