Bitget Launches its Web3 Fund Aimed at Next-Gen Projects and Web3-Friendly VC Firms

Cryptocurrency exchange and digital asset platform Bitget is launching its Bitget Web3 Fund. The news was announced during Hong Kong Blockchain Week.
According to the press release, Bitget Web3 Fund is aimed at next-generation web3 projects and will seek to invest in web3-friendly venture capital firms worldwide. As of today, Bitget has received inquiries from Foresight Ventures, Dragonfly Capital, SevenX Ventures, DAO Maker, ABCDE Capital, and other potential partners. Asian startups focusing on real-world problems will receive special funding from the company. Such companies must have innovative solutions, clear roadmaps, and experienced teams.
The launch of Bitget Web3 Fund furthers the exchange’s commitment to the development of the web3 ecosystem and its interest in pursuing research, development, and innovation in blockchain-based projects. To launch the initiative, Bitget has invested $100 million in the fund.
“We strive to support financial innovation in Asia and believe that our platform can act as a reliable, convenient, and secure link between the worlds of DeFi and CeFi. Our team of analysts has already outlined the criteria for project selection and will adhere to them strictly,”
said the Managing Director of Bitget, Gracy Chen.
Launched in 2018, Bitget serves over eight million people in more than a hundred countries. The company has recently acquired the web3 wallet BitKeep, which is used by over 9.5 million individuals.
The exchange is known for its collaborations with noted football clubs and players. For instance, Bitget has previously partnered with the Italian women’s Juventus Team and with the world-known football players Lionel Messi. In addition, in 2022, the exchange became the official cryptocurrency partner of PGL, one of the biggest esports organizations in Europe.
