Beeple Announces a Physical Event in Collaboration With the Gibbes Museum of Art
In Brief
Beeple Studio will host its second event, organized in partnership with the Gibbes Museum of Art.
The general public can attend the event by purchasing $200 tickets. Beeple’s NFT holders can attend the event for free.
The exhibition will take place on April 29.
Renowned digital artist Mike Winkelmann, more known as Beeple, has announced the second physical art event. Organized by the artist’s “Beeple Studios,” it will be held in collaboration with the Gibbes Museum of Art.
This is not the first initiative that has taken place in the artist’s 50,000-square-foot studio in Charleston. In March, the venue hosted the “Grand Opening” in partnership with the auction house Christie’s.
The second event, organized as part of the Gibbes Museum of Art’s annual Art Charleston week, will take place on April 29. The opening will feature an open exhibition space developed from Beeple’s retrospective, an open experiential space, a secret artist’s showcase, and Beeple’s live “Everyday” performance. Of course, the venue will also host a late after-party.
There are a limited number of tickets available to the public. Individuals can purchase the entrance by paying $200 per ticket. Owners of artworks from Beeple’s NFT collection will have the opportunity to attend the event for free. The only thing they need to do is register on the project’s website. Notably, proceeds from sales will benefit the Charleston Art Museum.
“We are excited to connect with members of the local art community and are honored to be able to help raise funds for all of the amazing programming the museum does for the community,”
writes Beeple in a Twitter thread.
Beeple is most known for his “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” NFT artwork, which was sold for $69 million at Christie’s. The artist’s pieces have been exhibited in international galleries and museums and featured in major publications.
