Prada teases “August” TimeCapsule NFT collection
Luxury fashion house Prada has announced the release of drop #32 of its limited-edition TimeCapsule collection. Dubbed “August,” it will come out on August 4, at 9 AM ET.
The drop includes an NFT and a physical product – a patchwork-styled shirt made from upcycled fabric. Additionally, NFT holders will get access to exclusive IRL events and experiences. For instance, one lucky Prada Timecapsule owner will have the chance to join the brand’s fashion show during Milan Fashion Week in September.
Prada creates new clothing items for TimeCapsule using existing textiles from the brand’s archive, paying attention to circularity. The new shirt is made from a selection of Prada fabrics: black poplin, flower-motif silk lurex brocade from a 1950s archive, and silk lamps from a 1920s textile archive. Moreover, the garment features a Frankenstein-inspired print by Jeanne Detallante and a Lattice Badge created by OMA studio.
Prada Crypted is the brand’s monthly event launched in December 2019. The fashion house drops exclusive items each first Thursday of the month. Individuals then have 24 for hours to participate and purchase NFTs from the collection. The previous Timecapsule Collection featured gifted NFTs and two limited-edition physical clothing garments. The collection has completely sold out.
On a side note, the brand will hold a “Prada Fashion Show Trivia” via Discord on August 3, at 6 PM CET (12 PM EST). Prada fans and NFT enthusiasts can participate by joining the brand’s Discord server.
