Assassin’s Creed Announces the Upcoming Phygital Collection
In Brief
Ubosft’s Assassin’s Creed is set to release a collection of physical 3D-printed cubes backed by Authentic Vision and near-field communication tags tied to NFTs.
The collection goes live on May 16.
Ubisoft’s open-world action-adventure game Assassin’s Creed has announced the upcoming release of a non-fungible token collection.
The release includes both physical and digital components, dubbed “Smart Collectibles.” The IRL part of the drop features 3D-printed cubes with character figures inside. The items are backed by Authentic Vision and near-field communication tags tied to the same address as the Polygon-based digital collectibles called “Digital Soul.”
To collect the physical pieces, individuals must purchase a Digital Soul non-fungible token. These come in two rarity tiers. Once purchased, holders can customize the tokens by choosing their outfit, weapon, and pose.
Generally speaking, the release aims to add new layers of collecting that would allow fans to showcase their personalities by customizing their characters.
Individuals that manage to obtain a Digital Soul NFT at the launch date will have the possibility to use the game’s “Customizer” to transform it. The token will be loaded into the Customizer and displayed on a 3D editing page.
Following this, NFT holders can order a physical 3D-printed Smart Collectible version of the digital collectible by adding shipping information and placing their orders.
On a side note, individuals can also access a dedicated application to interact with their characters and engage in a rewarding collector experience. The interactive app allows physical collectibles owners to earn utilities, such as “items, recipes, loot boxes,” when completing achievements. In addition to the entertaining experience and “unique limited-edition” Digital Soul NFTs, holders will get access to exclusive perks. For instance, individuals will receive pass-only discounts and early access to future drops.
The collection, featuring 1,500 tokens only, goes live on May 16.
