AltLayer Teams Up with Hyperlane to Enable Rollup Interoperability

In Brief

Altlayer users can now choose Hyperlane for bridge services and inter-rollup communication.

Developers using Hyperlane’s interchain security modules can configure, compose, and customize security as needed.

AltLayer, a Rollups-as-a-Service Protocol, has partnered with Hyperlane, a permissionless interoperability layer, to offer bridge services and facilitate inter-rollup communication for its users.

Hyperlane’s unique approach to interoperability sets it apart from traditional protocols. By providing a modular security stack, the platform allows developers to customize security configurations to suit their specific requirements, giving dApp developers more control over their security models.

Unlike many existing interoperability platforms that operate on permissioned models, Hyperlane introduces permissionless interoperability by eliminating the need for developers to seek support for their desired networks. This move simplifies the process and reduces integration costs, offering a more efficient solution for handling a growing number of blockchain chains.

With Hyperlane’s support, rollup providers can avoid the arduous task of convincing operators to back their products, as they can now deploy interoperability on their blockchain. Hyperlane’s modularity extends to its interchain security modules, enabling developers to build “Interchain Applications” – dApps that can span multiple blockchains. This versatility grants blockchain developers the freedom to create applications that transcend the limitations of individual chains.

With permissionless interoperability, developers can deploy Hyperlane anywhere and anytime, allowing them to reach a wider audience across different chains quickly. Through this collaboration with Hyperlane, AltLayer hopes to accelerate rollup adoption and increase accessibility for products wanting to build across chains and communities.

“In the world of rollups, it is very important for operators to rapidly deploy secure bridges. Interoperability is at the heart of successful adoption of rollups in the coming year – and so convenience, cross-chain accessibility and reliable cross-bridge communication is crucial,”

said Dr. Yaoqi Jia, CEO of AltLayer.

“Hyperlane’s permissionless product is all about ease, speed and reliability – and we knew they’d make a great partner as we expand the usability of and awareness around rollups-as-a-service.”
