Adobe has unveiled new generative AI-powered services that will be anchored in the new release of its content and digital asset management system, Adobe Experience Manager. The major new release will leverage AI to speed up content development and publishing, as well as deliver AI-powered data insights that help brands easily optimize new content for target audiences.
One of the AI-powered services is Firefly, a new family of creative generative AI models, focused on generating images and text effects. Now in beta, the service will be integrated into Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Adobe Express and will be part of a series of new Adobe Sensei generative AI services across Adobe’s clouds.
For over a decade, Adobe has been focusing on advancing artificial intelligence, integrating hundreds of AI-powered functionalities into its applications through Adobe Sensei. These include Photoshop’s Neural Filters, After Effects’ Content Aware Fill, Adobe Experience Platform’s Attribution AI, and Acrobat’s Liquid Mode.
According to a press release, Adobe develops and implements these innovations in accordance with its AI ethics principles, which emphasize accountability, responsibility, and transparency.
With Firefly, content creators can use enter prompts in their own words to generate content ranging from images, audio, vectors, videos, and 3D to creative ingredients, like brushes, color gradients, and video transformations.
“Generative AI is the next evolution of AI-driven creativity and productivity, transforming the conversation between creator and computer into something more natural, intuitive, and powerful,” said David Wadhwani, president, Digital Media Business, Adobe.
The other AI-powered service is Sensei GenAI, which enables brands to instantly generate and modify text-based experiences across any customer touchpoint, such as email and mobile messaging, as well as deliver comprehensive customer insights.
Leveraging different large language models (LLMs), including ChatGPT through the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and FLAN-T5, Sensei GenAI’s capabilities include:
- Marketing Copy Generation: create message variations for consumer touchpoints such as email and mobile messaging, quickly editing and rephrasing copy by selecting tone of voice and identifying keywords.
- Audience and Journey Creation: create rich audience segments that provide precision for personalization campaigns; templates to ideate and test different journeys via natural language.
- Caption Generation: text-based descriptions on key takeaways from visualizations such as cohort tables and fallout charts.
Adobe says global brands, including PGA TOUR, are piloting these new capabilities. The company is also planning to make Firefly’s API available so that customers can integrate the feature into custom workflows and automation.
